$52.69

Shipping to United States: $13.93

Original Japanese wedding studio photograph from 1964 (Showa 39), produced by Ohama Photo Studio in Ajisu, Yamaguchi Prefecture.

The portrait shows a groom in Western formal attire and a bride in a traditional Japanese wedding kimono with a tsunokakushi bridal headdress. The photograph documents Japanese wedding customs during the postwar Showa period.

The original studio presentation folder features gold embossing with the Japanese character for longevity and a pine motif, traditional symbols of good fortune. The photograph and its mount bear the studio's name and telephone number.

A handwritten inscription records the wedding date, March 26, 1964, together with the names and ages of the couple.

Original black-and-white photographic print on paper, probably a gelatin silver print, preserved in its period presentation folder.

Size (approx.):
Photograph: 20 × 13.5 cm.
Presentation folder: 30 × 20 cm.

Condition: Vintage condition, with age-related wear to the photograph and original folder.
