Original Japanese autographed shikishi from the Showa period, probably dating to the late 1970s or early 1980s.
The board contains numerous handwritten signatures of players and staff associated with the Fuji Film men's volleyball team, one of Japan's leading volleyball clubs of the period.
A red FUJI FILM VOLLEYBALL TEAM stamp is placed in the center, surrounded by signatures in black and grey ink.
Small pencil annotations identify individual signatories. Among the names indicated are Tsutomu Koyama, former head coach of Japan's national men's volleyball team, and Tetsuo Sato, a member of Japan's gold-medal-winning volleyball team at the 1972 Munich Olympics.
These identifications are based on the handwritten annotations and have not been independently authenticated.
A vintage collectible associated with Japanese volleyball history and the country's Olympic sporting tradition.
