Bamboo Shadows – Japanese Sumi-e Ink Painting on Shikishi with Interchangeable Hanging Scroll, Vintage Showa

Original Japanese monochrome ink painting on shikishi, dating to the late Showa–early Heisei period, presented in a traditional hanging scroll with a deep navy blue textile mounting.

The composition depicts slender bamboo stalks and delicate foliage. Bold black leaves contrast with soft grey tones and almost translucent branches. The varying intensity of the ink creates a sense of depth and lightness characteristic of traditional Japanese sumi-e painting. The artwork is signed by the artist and bears a red seal.

The shikishi is finished with a fine gold-colored border and displayed in an elegant dark navy blue hanging scroll. The interchangeable design allows the scroll to accommodate other shikishi artworks of the same format.
