Original Japanese sumi-e painting in ink and red pigment on a traditional shikishi board, dating to the early–mid Showa period.
Red bamboo is painted in ink and red pigment against a light ground. Translucent and denser red brushwork is used for the stems and leaves, while the composition remains restrained and nearly monochromatic. A small pencil sketch is present on the reverse.
Size: approx. 24 × 27 cm (9.4 × 10.6 in)
Condition: Good vintage condition, with natural age-related wear and signs of handling.
