The painting shows vertical bamboo stems, young shoots, and leaves rendered in shades of ink. The composition is restrained and open, with emphasis on the natural subject and the characteristic square shikishi format.
The work is signed and bears two red artist seals. The artist has not been securely identified, so the painting is presented without a definitive attribution.
