Akiyoshi Genpo, 1902–?, was an Osaka-born Japanese artist of the nanga / nanshuga tradition. His work is connected with Japanese Southern School painting and bunjinga, or literati painting, where landscapes, plants, fish and seasonal motifs occupy an established place alongside poetry, calligraphy and Chinese classical culture.

In the 1920s, Genpo became known within the circle of modern nanshuga artists. He was born in Osaka and studied under Mizuta Chikuho, one of the important masters of Kansai nanga. Japanese biographical references describe Genpo as a nanga artist whose works were selected for Bunten and Teiten.

Mizuta Chikuho was one of the important masters of Kansai nanga and one of the founders of Nihon Nanga-in. Through this teacher lineage, Genpo is connected with the Osaka-Kyoto circle of artists working with the nanga tradition in the first half of the 20th century, where painting preserved its connection with literati culture, Chinese classical tradition and intimate seasonal subjects.
