Original Japanese woodblock print from the Edo period, dated 1862.
This print is by Utagawa Hiroshige II and belongs to the series Sixty-eight Views of the Various Provinces. It shows Tojinbo in Echizen Province, a coastal landscape with rocky cliffs, open water, and shoreline forms.
The series was published in 1862 by Tsutaya Kichizo / Koeido. The print includes the series title, place title, Hiroshige signature, sheet number, and seal area in the right margin.
Format: vertical chuban nishiki-e woodblock print.
Condition
Good antique condition.
The print shows natural age-related wear, including light paper toning, small spots, minor edge wear, a few small losses or abrasions near the upper edge, and minimal old paper reinforcements / mounting traces.
The composition remains clear. The colors are well preserved, including the blue bokashi at the top, green cliffs, pale water, and ochre rock forms. Please review the photos carefully.
