First half of the 20th century Japanese sumi ink shikishi - Moonlit landscape with poem

Japanese shikishi from the first half of the 20th century, early to mid Showa period.

The work is executed in sumi ink on a traditional shikishi board. It depicts a moonlit waterside landscape with distant mountains, small boats, and pine trees near the shore. The composition is completed with a Japanese poetic inscription, artist’s signature, and red seal.

By format, this work belongs to the intimate tradition of Japanese shikishi painting with elements of haiga, where image and poem form a single poetic sheet.

Condition
Vintage condition. Natural age-related wear is present, including light toning, small fiber creases, minor edge wear and signs of handling consistent with a vintage Japanese shikishi. Please review the photos carefully.
