Japanese Buddhist temple kakemono (kakejiku), late Edo - Meiji period, with the image of Fudo Myoo.
The composition shows the seated Buddhist protector with a sword, a rope, and a halo of flames. The scroll belongs to the Japanese tradition of protective temple and household Buddhist images. The inscription on the rolled scroll identifies the subject as Fudo.
