Antique Japanese tanzaku from the Taishō–early Shōwa period (approximately 1915–1935). A vertical panel painted in ink on silk, mounted on a traditional tanzaku board. The composition depicts a samurai sword rendered with expressive brushwork and accompanied by calligraphic elements, reflecting decorative ink painting traditions of the early 20th century. A signature and seal are present.
Included with the piece is a vintage late-Shōwa wooden display shelf, suitable for vertical presentation. This shelf is a later addition and does not belong to the period of creation.
The tanzaku measures approximately 6 × 36 cm.
