Authentic Japanese shrine ofuda (protective talisman woodblock print).

This is an antique shrine-issued ofuda, originally distributed as a protective amulet for the home or a small business. The print depicts Ebisu, a Shinto deity associated with good fortune, trade, and fishing. He is shown holding a fishing rod and a sea bream (tai), traditional symbols of prosperity and an abundant catch.

Period: late Edo (antique).
Technique: monochrome woodblock print.
