Author: Tamenaga Shunsui (1790–1843).

Dating: Tenpō 12 (1841), dated according to the preface.
Printing technique: woodblock print.

This work is documented in major Japanese academic and university library collections and is regarded as a representative example of Edo-period ninjōbon. It was reprinted in the 20th century as part of corpus editions of classical Japanese literature.

Condition
Antique condition. The set shows natural age-related characteristics typical of an original Edo-period woodblock-printed book, including overall toning of the paper, local staining, and signs of long-term use. Some losses and damages are present, including traces of insect activity. No restorations. The condition is consistent with the age and historical context of the object.
