Vintage Japanese shikishi with a small genre composition, created in the early Shōwa period.
The work is painted on an early 20th-century shikishi board with a gold-toned ground.
The image is rendered with traditional pigments and white highlights, using controlled and confident brushwork typical of decorative and genre painting of the period.
An artist’s signature and seals are preserved on the right side.
