Antique Meiji–Shōwa Japanese ink shikishi – calligraphic composition

Antique Japanese shikishi with an ink calligraphic composition, created in the late Meiji–early Shōwa period. The work is executed on an early 20th-century shikishi board with characteristic natural aging. Two authorial seals are present on the front. The brushwork is firm and confident, with large, expressive strokes typical of early 20th-century calligraphy. A handwritten note is preserved on the reverse side.

This piece belongs to the tradition of Japanese calligraphy from the transitional Meiji–Shōwa era and reflects stable shodō practices of that time.
