Vintage Japanese shikishi “Hamano landscape”, Shōwa period (1966)

Original Japanese shikishi painting created in 1966.
The front shows a rural landscape with a winding road, low buildings, winter trees and a distant mountain line, painted in ink and colour on traditional shikishi board. The style reflects mid-Shōwa period hand-painted landscape work with a combination of linear drawing and soft washes.

The piece comes with its original presentation folder, marked with the title of the scene. Such folders were a common form of packaging and storage for hand-painted shikishi in the 1950s–1970s and remain part of the object’s history.

The artwork is signed on the front with a handwritten inscription and a date (1966), accompanied by the artist’s personal seal.
