Vintage Japanese shikishi with a New Year horse motif, created and distributed in January 1966 during the Shōwa period by the Seikoku Shrine. The ceremonial horse is painted in ink with light colour accents, following the traditional temple New Year style of the mid-Shōwa era.
The board is seikishi, produced by Ota Publishing. A temple seal is placed in the upper corner, and the artist’s personal seal is added below. The original printed envelope is preserved.
Size: approx. 24 × 27 cm.
Condition: good vintage condition with natural signs of age and light fibre folds from storage. The painting surface is preserved in its natural state.
