Vintage Japanese ink and color scroll “Mountain Village by the Stream”, kakemono (kakejiku), Shōwa #1816

Traditional Japanese hanging scroll depicting a mountain landscape with thatched houses among pine trees, a wooden bridge over a stream, and mist-covered peaks in the background. Painted in ink and color on silk, in the spirit of the sansui-ga (landscape) tradition. The brushwork and balanced green and ochre tones convey a calm atmosphere typical of late Shōwa nihonga painting.
