Vintage Japanese double-sided shikishi with two horse studies, early–mid Shōwa

Vintage Japanese double-sided shikishi featuring two complementary horse studies executed in ink and wash.
The face side shows a turning horse with soft brown washes over sumi outlines; the posture is tense and slightly angled, with the head turned back toward the viewer.
The reverse side presents a more calligraphic, spontaneous sketch in monochrome sumi, capturing movement with minimal strokes.

Both drawings correspond to Shōwa-period studio practice, where gesture, rhythm, and quick study were central to training.
No signatures or seals on either side.

Condition: good vintage condition; natural age toning, light foxing, small edge wear, a few superficial surface marks, no restoration.
