Vintage Japanese shikishi with an ink-and-wash study of a rearing horse, created in the early–mid Shōwa period.
The composition focuses on upward movement: lifted front legs, arched neck, and a strong contour drawn in one continuous gesture. Layered washes and confident sumi lines reflect training-studio practice typical for Shōwa-era academic ink work.
Signature present on the front. Original shikishi board with natural age toning.
Size approx. 24×27 cm.
Condition: good vintage condition; natural signs of age, light foxing, toning, and small marks near the lower area; preserved surface, no restoration.
