Ink painting on silk depicting a tiger stepping forward with a dynamic, deliberate movement. The composition focuses on energy, posture, and directional brushwork, characteristic of animal painting studios active in Kyoto and Nara during the mid-Shōwa era. The artist uses expressive white accents on the face and paws, along with firm contour lines and controlled shading typical of postwar dōbutsuga practice.
A signature and seal are present; the name follows the studio conventions of the period.

The scroll dates to the mid-Shōwa period, 1950s–1960s. Mounted with gold-tone fabrics of the era and executed on fine factory-woven silk typical for postwar studio production.

Style note
Expressive mid-Shōwa animal painting with emphasis on movement and decorative contour.

Condition
Good vintage condition, with natural signs of time. Light storage creases are present but do not affect the painted surface. The lower roller has a careful reinforcement along the base area — a standard preservation measure for Shōwa-period scrolls. The painting itself is intact.

Dimensions
Approx. 52 × 182 cm overall.
