Japanese kakemono (kakejiku) depicting a ceremonial samurai armor display (yoroi kazari) with arrows, banners, and armor parts arranged on a ritual stand. Such scrolls were presented during the Boys’ Festival (Tango no sekku) as a wish for courage, strength, and protection, expressing the ideal samurai spirit.

Executed in mineral pigments and ink on handmade paper, the composition is strictly symmetrical and ceremonial in tone. The restrained palette with gold accents and decorative balance reflects early 20th-century craftsmanship of temple and domestic scrolls from the Meiji to early Shōwa period (ca. 1900–1940).

Mounted with grey silk borders, gold-patterned paper, and red brocade inserts. Wooden roller ends. No signature or seal, consistent with its ritual nature rather than individual authorship.

Condition: good antique condition with natural traces of time, light folds from storage, and several small unobtrusive holes on the paper surface. Preserved without restoration, in original state with respect for age.
Dimensions: approx. 38 × 153 cm.
