Japanese hanging scroll depicting a mountain stream among rocks and pines. Ink on silk, with a calm atmospheric composition and soft tonal gradation in the traditional landscape manner.
On the reverse side of the scroll (when rolled) there is a handwritten notation indicating the subject and that the piece is executed by hand. A signature and seal of the artist are present on the painting surface. The artist’s name is not specified here, in keeping with a respectful, documentary presentation.
Estimated date: Shōwa period, second half (approximately 1950s–1980s).
