An exceptional Japanese scrapbook (1890s–1970s) documenting the rise of telecommunication, radio, and broadcasting in Japan.
Created by a former engineer or collector, it includes over 70 pages of newspaper clippings, photos, and diagrams covering telephones, switchboards, NHK broadcasting, and NASA’s Viking 1 Mars landing.
Features early Meiji–Shōwa newspaper typography, diagrams of rotary dial telephones, rare American Bosch car-radio circuit, and a 1954 broadcast tower photo.
Each page is carefully mounted on brown paper — a unique visual timeline of Japan’s modernization.
