Vintage Shōwa–early Heisei Japanese ink shikishi – bamboo with classical text

Vintage Japanese shikishi painted with bamboo in gold ink on a deep blue-black surface. The work is created on a traditional shikishi board without a border. A fragment of a classical cosmological text is written in vertical gold lines on the left side. The composition combines calligraphy and a painted motif in the literati tradition. Dating: late Shōwa to early Heisei.

Meaning note
The text describes the natural order: the cycle of seasons, the movement of celestial bodies, and the transformation of dew into frost. Placed beside bamboo — a symbol of resilience and flexible steadiness — it creates an image of quiet contemplation and alignment with the rhythms of the world.
