This vintage Japanese shikishi board features a heartfelt calligraphy titled "Mindset for Longevity", based on a quote from a monk at the Kōyasan monastery. The text humorously and philosophically outlines how we should greet the passing of time — starting from the age of 60 to 100 — with grace and patience.

The calligraphy is signed by Shichikawa Shikidō (七川識道), a former disciple and calligrapher, and presented by Matsumoto Kōmei, then branch director of Nippon Life Insurance in Kōchi.

Executed in a clean semi-cursive style (gyōsho) on a traditional shikishi board, with two red hand-applied seals.

A beautiful piece of Japanese calligraphic tradition, with both aesthetic and spiritual resonance.

Dimensions: approx. 24×27 cm
Material: paper on shikishi board
