A beautiful and serene original Japanese woodblock print by Kitagawa (北河), titled “No.53”, depicting an elegant bijin (beautiful woman) in a vivid indigo kimono by the riverside at dusk.
The delicate composition, subtle grey tones, and striking colors are typical of the Kyoto Shin-Hanga school.
This piece beautifully connects the timeless ukiyo-e bijinga tradition with modern woodblock innovations of the early 20th century.
The work is unsigned by censorship marks — characteristic for limited edition Kyoto prints.
