A quiet seashore scene from the Ikkū Collection, depicting the windswept pines of Tottori (鳥取), home to the historic “Farewell Pine” (追の松, Oi no Matsu). This spot, near the famous Tottori Sand Dunes, has long been a poetic place where travelers once said goodbye.
Painted in ink and mineral color on washi, mounted on light board in traditional shikishi format, the work captures the quiet movement of the coast, the slope of sand, and the poetic stillness of solitude.
Signed by Ikkū (一空) – meaning “One Sky” – and stamped with the artist’s red seal.
