A vintage Shōwa-period work executed in oil on board. The format is a standalone painted panel depicting a coastal scene with boats, calm water, and branches in the foreground. The reverse side carries the original title and the date Shōwa 19 (1944), together with the artist’s signature and a red seal.
About the artist
The work is signed by Ienaga Eizaburo, a Japanese painter active in the first half of the 20th century. His practice followed the yōga tradition, producing small-format landscapes and views associated with the coastal regions of the Seto Inland Sea.

A free, gently expressive manner typical of early Shōwa, combining a Japanese landscape motif with elements of yōga.
