A finely executed original Japanese shikishi painting of a crab, signed with the art-name Hisuihō (翡翠峰), meaning “Jade Peak”. This expressive depiction blends sumi ink with gentle pink hues to capture the intricate anatomy of the crab in motion — a traditional symbol of resilience and tenacity in Japanese art.

Executed in the Nihonga style with roots in the Shijō school, this piece likely dates from the 1950s–1970s (Shōwa period). The brushwork reflects a deep understanding of natural form, enhanced by the economy of line and subtle washes typical of suibokuga technique.

Signed with a matching red seal (hanko), this is an original work, not a print or reproduction. Painted on traditional shikishi board with gilt edges, approx. 24 × 27 cm.
